Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking a Transit Compliance Specialist to support the Assistant Manager, Transit Compliance in ensuring the drug and alcohol testing program meets DOT and FTA requirements (49 CFR Part 40 and Part 655). The role emphasizes confidentiality and strong organizational skills in a high‑visibility environment.

The position is based at 300 Cadman Plaza W, Brooklyn, NY, with a 7.5‑hour day and one telework day per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience.
• Credentials related to workplace drug/alcohol testing are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Transit drug/alcohol testing records (electronic and hard-copy) per DOT and MTA policy.
• Obtain testing history for job applicants and employees moving into DOT-regulated positions.
• Coordinate with MROs, collectors, alcohol testers, HR recruiters, and SAPs to ensure compliance.
• Support field inquiries and develop educational material on testing standards and practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
