Job summary

The Metropolitan Council in Minnesota is seeking a Training Specialist to design and deliver instructor-led and digital skills trainings across the organization. You will analyze needs, develop training content, present sessions, and evaluate outcomes while applying adult learning principles.

You will lead onboarding programs, coordinate workshops, and partner with Learning and Organization Development to ensure learning initiatives meet business goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include combinations of education and experience in HR development or adult education.
• Various education levels paired with progressive years of experience are accepted.
• Strong preference for experience in training design and delivery.
• Experience with assessment tools like MBTI or 360s is beneficial.
• Familiarity with adult learning principles and ADDIE is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver skills training to employees using adult learning principles and diverse formats.
• Coordinate and manage learning programs, including workshops and new-employee orientation.
• Analyze training needs through interviews, surveys and performance observations.
• Foster positive relations with managers to identify learning requirements.
• Organize onboarding and collaboration with divisions for effective programs.
• Facilitate workgroup meetings with effective techniques and record outcomes.
