Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Traffic and ITS Engineering Intern to be based in Pittsburgh, PA. The internship is set to begin in May 2027 and aims to provide hands-on experience across design, planning and traffic analysis under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Interns will work on highway design projects, develop drawings, and gain familiarity with Microstation, AutoCAD and MS Office, while developing strong communication and teamwork skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering with intent to continue after internship.
• Must have completed at least 2 years of study and be willing to continue to graduate studies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, planning and traffic analysis.
• Create designs, calculations, sketches and final drawings under supervision.
• Provide support to traffic engineering groups on highway design projects.
• Collaborate effectively in a team-based environment.
