Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Highway Engineering Intern to be based in Pittsburgh, PA. This Spring/Summer 2027 internship offers hands-on experience on medium to large transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area, working with a team of engineers to develop designs and calculations.

You will build analytic and design skills, create designs, perform calculations, and draft construction plans under supervision.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and must have completed at least 1 year of study.
• Candidates who have recently graduated and plan to continue with a Master’s degree are eligible to apply.
• Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most recent school term.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the roadway, structures, and traffic engineering groups on highway design projects.
• Assist design staff on engineering calculations, quantity calculations, cost estimates, construction plans, and supporting materials.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment.
