Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a Traffic Engineering Intern to join our team. The hybrid role requires in-office presence at least 3 days a week and supports undergraduate and graduate candidates through meaningful transportation projects.

Responsibilities include traffic engineering studies, simulations, reports, and coordination with state DOTs. The internship emphasizes mentorship, hands-on design using MicroStation/AutoCAD, and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• ABET-accredited program or NCEES equivalent.
• This internship is not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic engineering studies and transportation planning projects.
• Conduct traffic simulation and analyses using VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS.
• Support preparation of traffic impact studies and technical reports.
• Assist with signal operations, timing, and pedestrian/bicycle facility analysis.
• Develop design concepts using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with DOTs and local agencies.
• Support data collection and the preparation of proposals.
• Participate in public information meetings.
