Job summary

Odoo, a leading open-source ERP provider, seeks a Technical Writer in Brisbane, CA. You will craft accurate user docs and eLearning content, explain complex features clearly, and manage documentation through GitHub. This role collaborates with writers, designers, and producers to deliver high-quality projects on a fast-paced team.

The team focuses on product education across Odoo's platform and supports SMB customers with clear problem-solution framing and practical guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Technical Writing or related field.
• 2+ years of technical or content writing for software/SaaS.
• Portfolio demonstrating technical documentation and writing skills.
• Experience with ERP or SaaS documentation and Git/GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Independently author user documentation and eLearning video tutorials (with occasional writing of product webpages and app tour videos) to educate new users and demonstrate business flows.
• Revise and maintain existing content written by multiple contributors over different Odoo versions, incorporating peer feedback and adhering to content guidelines.
• Read and write in RST markup and submit new/improved documentation using Git. Perform content and technical reviews using GitHub.
• Work cross-functionally with consultants and functional support, with occasional input from R&D, to stay up-to-date on the latest Odoo features and capabilities.
