d3t Studio is expanding and seeks a Technical UI Designer to craft best-in-class UI/UX for our AAA game projects. This 12-month fixed-term contract is based in our UK studios in Daresbury or Newcastle, with hybrid work and in-person collaboration three days a week.

You will work with engineers, artists, and designers to implement UI features and tooling. Ideal candidates have game-engine UI experience, strong typography, and a collaborative mindset, with familiarity in Unity/Unreal UI and

Formación

• Professional game development experience with at least one game engine.
• Implemented UI screens, widgets, and data flows in collaboration with other game disciplines.
• Rapid prototyping to test feasibility of concepts from start to finish with ownership.
• Polished features to AAA quality and maintained them throughout production.
• Experience with Unity UI, Unreal UI, ImGui, WPF, or Qt is a bonus.

Responsabilidades

• Structure, plan, estimate, and implement UI features aligned with the game's goals, accessibility, and technical standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, scripters, UX designers, and UI artists to implement UI layouts, 2D/3D, menus, animations, HUDs.
• Use Python, JavaScript, or C++ or visual scripting (Unreal Blueprints/Unity) to implement UI logic.
• Improve implementation based on feedback, design requirements, art, and direction.
• Ensure interfaces scale across platforms and perform without frame drops.
• Tool Authoring: build tools/workflows for other UI artists.
• Shader/Material work for health bars, holographic HUDs, transitions.
• Report to technical directors and project managers.
• Have a strong eye for detail and typography.
• Collaborative and inclusive attitude; problem-solving mindset.
