Job summary

2K in California seeks a Lead UI Technical Designer to own and evolve in-game UI systems at scale, leveraging Unreal Engine, Blueprint, and UMG. You will collaborate with designers, artists, engineers, and producers to deliver performant UI across platforms.

You will mentor team members, help define UI architecture, and drive initiatives end-to-end, from prototyping to production, while maintaining high-quality, responsive interfaces.

Qualifications

• Experience building, debugging, and optimizing UI in UE4/UE5 with Blueprints/UMG.
• Ability to solve complex UI problems with engineers and designers.
• Strong understanding of UI data flow and performance.
• Experience leading UI design initiatives and teams.

Responsibilities

• Champion design, iteration, and maintenance of UI systems using Unreal Engine and Blueprint.
• Define UI architecture best practices and optimize for performance across platforms.
• Evaluate new tools to enhance XD across gameplay elements.
• Translate UX designs into in-engine UI implementations with seamless integration.
• Establish scalable UI Material workflows for widgets.
• Collaborate with UX designers, UI artists, engineers, and audio teams.
• Foster a collaborative culture within Experience Design (UX/UI/UITD/UI Eng).
• Mentor designers and contribute to hiring and onboarding as the team grows.
