Job summary

Aardvark Tax Advisors, the accounting and client services arm of Cynch AI, seeks a Tax Associate to prepare returns, perform research, and build the foundation for a tax career. The hybrid role is based in Cupertino, Pleasanton, or Santa Cruz offices, with opportunities in the North Bay.

You will work with senior practitioners, receive direct feedback, and aim to become the best in tax through hands-on learning and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 0–3 years in tax, accounting, or related field.
• Working understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple returns.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal, state, and local returns for individuals and entities.
• Gather client financial information and note missing items for review.
• Build workpapers, schedules, and documentation for others to follow.
• Meet filing deadlines for returns and extensions.
• Research tax issues and cite sources.
• Track changes in tax laws and apply them to engagements.
