Job summary

Aardvark Tax Advisors, the Cynch AI accounting and client services arm, is seeking a Tax Manager to own complex engagements and lead a tax team across our California offices in Pleasanton, Cupertino, and Santa Cruz. The role emphasizes client relationships, advisory work, and high-quality delivery with a hybrid work model.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in public accounting or tax, CPA or EA credentials, and strong proficiency with UltraTax, CCH Axcess, or Lacerte.

Qualifications

• Active CPA or EA required.
• 5+ years in public accounting or tax.
• Experience reviewing work of other tax professionals and developing less-experienced team members.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations across multiple entity types.
• Direct client relationship experience and management of multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

• Manage client relationships across tax planning, compliance, and consulting.
• Review complex returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts, and estates.
• Deliver tax planning and guidance on legislative changes.
• Mentor and develop tax professionals; manage workloads and deadlines.
• Identify opportunities to expand services and manage tax risk.
