Aardvark Tax Advisors in California is seeking a Tax Associate to prepare federal, state, and local returns and perform the research behind them. You’ll work across entity types from day one, turning complex tax information into accurate, review-ready returns.

This hybrid role offers opportunities to expand your tax knowledge, use leading software, and support clients with diligence and confidentiality while meeting deadlines. Cupertino/Santa Cruz/North Bay offices.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years in tax, accounting, or a related field.
• Working understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple returns simultaneously.
• Clear written and verbal communication with clients and colleagues.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Internship or entry-level experience in public accounting or accounting department.
• Experience with professional tax software (UltraTax, Axcess Tax, Drake, Lacerte, or similar).
• Strong research skills and ability to read regulations and interpret their meaning.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare federal, state, and local returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
• Gather and organize client financial information and identify missing items before review.
• Turn complex tax information into accurate, review-ready returns.
• Meet filing deadlines for returns and extensions.
• Research tax issues and show sources for findings.
• Keep client files and records audit-ready.
• Handle client questions and elevate issues appropriately.
