Job summary

Sayres Defense is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our growing Talent Acquisition team in the Washington, DC/DMV area. This position supports a hybrid work schedule with regular in-office participation for business development, proposal work, and team collaboration.

This junior-to-mid-level recruiter role focuses on scientific, technical, and engineering staffing, cultivating relationships with specialized talent while following government-contracting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HR/related field.
• 2–5 years of full-lifecycle recruiting or talent acquisition experience.
• Experience recruiting for technical, scientific, engineering, federal, or government-contracting roles preferred.
• Knowledge of government contracting staffing requirements and labor categories.
• Ability to manage multiple requisitions and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Partner with TA Manager and hiring managers to identify, attract, assess, and hire qualified professionals.
• Develop sourcing strategies using job boards, resume databases, LinkedIn, referrals, and social networks.
• Screen candidates against position requirements, labor categories, and clearance requirements.
• Maintain accurate requisitions, descriptions, and candidate records.
• Support recruiting for proposals, incumbent capture, and contract-award dependent roles.
• Track recruiting metrics and maintain confidentiality.
