Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is a leading specialty insurer with a global presence. We seek a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure in Houston, TX to support and optimize on‑premises and cloud infrastructure, advancing automation and disaster recovery capabilities.

The role requires 5+ years in systems engineering, strong VMware/Windows/Linux experience, and proactive collaboration across teams. This hybrid position offers in‑office and remote work four days a week with one day from home.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive hands-on experience in systems engineering or administration.
• Experience with VMware, Windows Server, and major Linux distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Strong troubleshooting abilities in multi-site, mixed-technology enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage server lifecycle: installation, upgrades, decommissioning and support for VMware vSphere, vCenter, Windows, and Linux.
• Administer Distributed File Systems and vSAN storage platforms.
• Plan, apply patches and upgrades; perform root-cause analysis for infrastructure incidents.
• Participate in infrastructure design and documentation with cross-team collaboration on major projects.
• Implement OS improvements to enhance reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Support Rubrik backup/recovery systems and ensure data integrity.
