University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to manage VMware and Linux server environments and provide support across the IT stack. The role emphasizes monitoring, automation with Ansible, AD integration, and collaboration with senior team members.

The position offers a hybrid work model in Colorado Springs, with a strong focus on system reliability, incident response, and research support for HPC environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, engineering, or related field or year-for-year experience substitution.
• Experience supporting Ansible, Chef, Salt, or Puppet with Ansible usage.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools: Zabbix, Nagios, Grafana, Icinga, PRTG.
• Cloud knowledge (Azure, AWS, GCP) preferred; RHCSA/Network+/Linux+ desirable.

Responsibilities

• Configure Linux and Windows servers and support AD environments.
• Collaborate with senior staff in systems management and VMware administration.
• Maintain and troubleshoot VMware vSphere clusters and ESXi hosts.
• Write automation scripts and playbooks; assist with system maintenance.
