Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year scheduling experience in a surgery center or medical office setting.
• Knowledge of EMR and healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

• Schedules office, surgery centers and hospital procedures for patients with provider and time/location slot.
• Pre-authorizes surgeries and records information in scheduling system.
• Maintains a surgical log for statistical analysis.
• Provides pre-surgical packets with date and instructions.
• Coordinates with facilities for equipment or personnel as needed.
• Ensures pre-operative labs are ordered and tracked in EMR.
• Audits automated phone system daily for scheduling updates.
• Verifies scheduling accuracy before publication.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Provides courteous, professional service to patients and referring physicians.
