Selective Insurance Company of America invites you to join the Ignite Internship program at our Charlotte, NC regional office. This 11-week, full-time experience offers a sneak peek into the world of insurance and builds business acumen through on-the-job assignments, team projects, and executive exposure.

As a Claims Intern, you’ll learn to evaluate and process claims, assist in handling workers’ compensation tasks, and support the automation of weekly scorecards, with a hybrid work arrangement

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student to qualify.
• Interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.
• High School Diploma required; Juniors or Seniors in undergrad preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and work with adjusters to perform administrative duties including issuing payments and completing administrative tasks.
• Participate in special projects such as continuous improvement strategies.
• Support Claims professionals with large account management.
• Assist in automating the department’s weekly scorecard, tracking KPIs and reporting results.
