Job summary

Selective Insurance in Charlotte, NC, invites college students to join the Ignite Internship program for summer 2027, a focused 11-week, full-time introduction to the world of insurance.

As a Claims Intern, you’ll support the Workers’ Compensation and Customer Experience teams by shadowing adjusters, handling admin tasks, helping automate scorecards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, all within a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student.
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution's requirements.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Knowledge and Requirements

• Must be a current college student to qualify.
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution's requirements.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma required. Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.

Pay Range
