Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is hiring a Substation Physical Designer in a hybrid office/remote role in New Jersey. You will contribute to high and extra high voltage substation projects, producing General Arrangement drawings, Equipment Plans, grounding, shielding, and conduit details, while ensuring client standards are met.

Experience in design deliverables, vendor data integration, and site walkdowns is essential. A strong drafting background and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation are required.

Qualifications

• 12 years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or HS diploma with 2+ years drafting coursework or equivalent.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD aid.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Substation General Arrangement drawings and Equipment Plans.
• Create Grounding, Lightning Shielding, and Conduit/Detail plans.
• Perform vendor information integration and client walkdowns.
• Apply client standards to design deliverables.
