Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a substations designer to collaborate with engineers and designers on high and extra high voltage projects. You will prepare general arrangements, plans, elevations, BOMs, grounding and conduit layouts, and related documentation.

The role requires substantial substations design experience, CAD proficiency (AutoCAD/MicroStation), and the ability to visualize 3D components. A relocation package is offered depending on location.

Qualifications

• Associate's or higher in a relevant technical field with drafting coursework.
• Minimum 6 years of substations physical design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; Bentley Substation Design familiarity.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer aid.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and designers on HV substation design deliverables.
• Interpret vendor information and incorporate into designs.
• Conduct walkthroughs at client substations.
