Selective Insurance in Hamilton, NJ seeks a Subrogation Trial Attorney to join our Staff Counsel team in a hybrid role (2 days in office, 3 days remote). You will represent the company in subrogation litigation, conduct in-depth legal research, draft filings, and coordinate with clients and opposing counsel to advance strategy.
Requirements include a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited school, active New Jersey Bar membership, 7+ years of legal experience with 5+ years in subrogation, and trial
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from ABA-accredited law school.
- Member in good standing of the New Jersey Bar; PA preferred.
- 7+ years of legal experience and 5+ years in subrogation.
- Trial experience preferred and multi-state bar admittance recommended.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Company before the assigned Court and present witnesses and evidence in subrogation litigation.
- Conduct extensive legal research and develop trial strategies.
- Draft pleadings, discovery, motions and briefs for strategies.
- Prepare for and handle trial and appeal activities as assigned.
- Communicate with clients and subrogation teams per guidelines.
- Travel to depositions, court appearances and client meetings (~20%).
