Job summary
Selective Insurance Company of America in Wayne, PA seeks a Trial/Sr. Trial Attorney to provide legal representation for insureds in litigated claims, advise claims department, and manage a full caseload from inception to resolution.
The position is hybrid with 2 days in office and 3 remote days, depending on business needs. Responsibilities include representing insureds, researching complex issues, drafting pleadings, preparing for trials and appeals, and communicating with clients and counsel.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from ABA-accredited law school required.
- Bar admission in good standing in the jurisdiction.
- 7+ years legal experience for a Trial Attorney and 15+ years with independent file handling for Sr. Trial Attorney.
- Trial experience preferred.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Represent insureds before the court and present witnesses and evidence.
- Analyze complex legal issues and develop defense strategies.
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and briefs.
- Prepare for and handle trials and appeals, as assigned.
- Communicate with clients, claims professionals, and court personnel.
