Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh's Office of PittServes seeks a Student Engagement Coordinator to lead activities and support student leadership across campus and community projects.

You will coordinate events, advise student organizations, monitor finances, promote events, and ensure compliance with university policies while collaborating with partners in Pittsburgh.

Hybrid schedule with evening/weekend availability; requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and project management skills to plan, coordinate, and execute student events and leadership programs.
• Ability to advise and mentor student organizations on program planning and decision-making.
• Proficiency in basic accounting/budget reconciliation and understanding of university policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for promotional materials and outreach.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends to attend events and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing student activities including social events, student government committees, clubs, and publications.
• Develop and coordinate special events, student/faculty activities, recreational programs, and leadership development opportunities.
• Advise student organizations on program planning, use of facilities, and available equipment.
• Support promotion of events and publishing the events calendar.
• Monitor and reconcile student organizations’ financials and ensure compliance with policies.
• Attend meetings and publicize events in the campus and local community.
• Explain and monitor compliance with university policies related to student activities.
• Assist in creating informational materials and publications about student activities and campus events.
