Job summary

BSI Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineering Manager to lead our growing Structural team in Mason, Ohio. You will guide engineers, manage industrial projects, and drive talent development while fostering innovation in FRP and advanced structural analysis.

The role blends technical leadership with people management, offering a competitive base salary, bonuses, and an employee-owned culture. Hybrid schedule requires in-office presence in Mason three days per week with up to two remote

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with Ohio preference.
• 7–10 years of structural engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Experience leading people and projects as direct manager.
• Proven ability to design steel, concrete, masonry, and structural support systems.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI 318, AISC, NDS standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Hybrid schedule: 3 in-office days in Mason, Ohio, with up to 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of structural engineers and designers, fostering collaboration and growth.
• Provide technical leadership for design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and specialty systems.
• Balance technical quality with project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Serve as trusted advisor to project teams and clients for practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Oversee designs, calculations, specifications, and docs ensuring accuracy and codes compliance.
• Champion innovation through new technologies, tools, and analytical techniques.
• Support growth of FRP, facility modifications, and industrial infrastructure capabilities.
• Collaborate with process/mechanical/electrical/architectural teams on integrated solutions.
• Participate in field investigations, facility assessments, and construction support.
• Support recruiting, succession planning, and development of the Structural team.
• Develop client relationships for repeat business and partnerships.
• Review, approve, and seal engineering deliverables in line with quality standards.
