Job summary

EIC Group is looking for a structural engineer in a hybrid, salaried role to develop designs and calculations for heavy highway bridge projects. The position combines office engineering with some field time and client interactions, under supervision of experienced PE's.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and have an interest in structures. EIT or in-progress status is required, as is willingness to pursue a PE license; AutoCAD and office software proficiency are

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited college is required.
• Interest and/or specialization in structures is important.
• Industry experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong writing and communication skills; proficient in AutoCAD and standard office productivity software.

Responsibilities

• Developing designs and calculations for construction engineering requirements for heavy highway bridge contractors and steel erectors.
• Prepare erection plans, demolition plans, temporary shoring, sheeting, value engineering and permanent bridge design.
• Gain experience in steel, concrete, wood and geotechnical design.
• Some field time should be anticipated; work with clientele to solve on-site issues.
• New hires will receive tasks to solve under supervision of experienced PEs.
