Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a motivated Structural Engineering Intern to join our team. This hybrid internship welcomes undergraduate and graduate students to learn, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain hands-on experience with experienced engineers.

The role involves designing and analyzing bridges, preparing calculations and drawings, and participating in on-site inspections. You will collaborate with senior engineers and work with industry standards, with opportunities to use AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of bridges and other structures, applying engineering principles and techniques.
• Support the preparation of design calculations, construction drawings, and technical reports.
• Participate in the inspection and rating of existing structures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and present design information, including organizing and interpreting data.
• Engage in both office-based tasks and on-site activities, gaining a comprehensive understanding of structural engineering processes.
• Assist in preparing project documentation, including reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Learn and apply relevant industry standards and best practices in structural design and inspection.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.
