PowerSecure is seeking a Communications Specialist to develop and implement internal and external strategies and to serve as a point of contact for communications counsel across departments. The role includes writing for news sites, executive talking points, and video scripts, and collaborating to organize events.

Ideal candidates have strong writing skills, experience in public relations or communications, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations or communications.
• At least 3 years in public relations, writing, or communications.
• Experience in the electric utility field is a plus.
• Exceptional writing ability and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic internal and external communications counsel.
• Develop messages and tactical plans for company issues.
• Collaborate with marketing to support campaigns.
• Write content for intranet, executive talking points, emails, social media, and video scripts.
• Support public relations during emergencies.
• Contribute to campaign ideation and content creation.
• Copyedit promotional materials and align with business goals.
• Work well in a team and manage multiple projects.
