Job summary

PG&E is seeking a Storage Platform Engineer to design and operate scalable data infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and on‑premises. You will manage Dell and IBM storage platforms, integrate AI for automation, and develop Terraform‑driven provisioning pipelines.

The role is hybrid, with 1–2 days on our Oakland HQ based on business needs. The SPE will optimize storage throughput, ensure data security, and support analytics workloads while collaborating with application, cybersecurity, and vendor

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
2 years in infrastructure, systems administration, cloud operations, or IT functions.
1 year experience with cloud technologies, automation, or cloud operating environments.
AWS Data Engineer or Azure Data Engineer certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Administer, configure, and support enterprise storage platforms across on‑premises and cloud environments.
Support block/SAN, NAS/file storage platforms, and related fabric technologies.
Provision, expand, reclaim, and optimize storage resources for apps, databases, and analytics.
Monitor storage health, capacity, latency, throughput, and replication status.
Troubleshoot storage incidents across arrays, fabrics, file systems, and cloud storage.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve storage reliability and security.
Implement storage protection, encryption, retention, and disaster recovery capabilities.
Develop automation, infrastructure‑as‑code modules, and deployment patterns.
