Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company in Oakland seeks a Storage Platform Engineer to support enterprise storage across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, ensuring secure, high-performing block, file, SAN, NAS, and cloud storage for critical applications.

You will work with Dell PowerMax/PowerFlex/PowerStore, IBM FlashSystem, Cisco MDS, AWS/Azure storage, and automation with Terraform, PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, and CI/CD to optimize provisioning, performance, and data protection.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
2 years of storage, infrastructure, or related IT experience.
1 year experience with cloud technologies and enterprise storage.
AWS or Azure data engineer certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Administer and support enterprise block, file, SAN, NAS, object, and cloud storage environments.
Provision, expand, reclaim, and optimize storage for applications, databases, and virtual infrastructure.
Monitor storage capacity, performance, availability, replication, and SAN connectivity.
Troubleshoot storage, SAN fabric, file-system, connectivity, capacity, and performance issues.
Develop or contribute to automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, scripting, REST APIs, and CI/CD.
