Job summary

PG&E is seeking an experienced FinOps Data Principal to design, build, and scale a core FinOps Data Platform that powers AI telemetry, reporting, cloud allocation, forecasting, and optimization. You will enable enterprise-wide visibility into cloud and GenAI consumption by building governed data products and standardized showbacks.

The role supports hybrid work from a remote office with in-person presence at the Oakland Corporate Office 1–2x per week, or as needed by business requirements.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in computer science, MIS, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 10 years in data engineering/ETL across multiple ecosystems.
• 3 years deploying ML models and ML operations.
• Experience leading development teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale the FinOps data platform and AI telemetry integrations.
• Translate complex cost, billing, and tokenomics data into scalable data models.
• Enable metadata ingestion, FinOps Data Lake integration, and cost showback foundations.
• Standardize and automate FinOps reporting, anomaly detection, and optimization insights.
• Expand data pipelines for Snowflake, PowerBI, and cloud cost data sources.
• Maintain AI usage telemetry and unit economics datasets.
• Automate data quality checks and consumption trend data for cloud/AI spend.
