Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking an Enterprise Architect to own compute and storage architecture across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. You will define strategy, target architectures, standards, and roadmaps, collaborating with delivery teams to ensure secure, executable solutions.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in enterprise architecture, strong cloud and data protection expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, platform, enterprise, or solution architecture.
Master’s degree in a related field is desirable.
Deep experience designing and governing enterprise compute, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency architectures.
Strong understanding of hybrid cloud, virtualization, infrastructure operations, and data protection technologies.
Experience balancing business, technical, operational, and regulatory requirements in large enterprise environments.
Experience with modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD, code quality, and performance engineering.
Experience architecting large-scale hybrid and multi-cloud environments with AWS and Azure.
Experience in regulated or high-reliability security-sensitive contexts.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills; TOGAF or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve the enterprise Compute & Storage target architecture for hybrid and multi-cloud.
Develop capability-based roadmaps to advance infrastructure modernization and resiliency.
Establish standards and reference architectures for compute, storage, backup, and DR platforms.
Drive workload placement decisions balancing cost, performance, resilience, and regulatory needs.
Ensure architecture aligns with enterprise strategy, cloud adoption, and modernization initiatives.
Lead governance, reviews, and technology assessments to validate design direction and manage debt.
Coach engineers and architects; promote disciplined architectural practices.
Coordinate roadmaps across infrastructure, security, data, and operations teams to manage interdependencies.
