Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) seeks a Staff Actuary in Chicago to apply statistics, finance theory, and actuarial principles to pricing, underwriting, reserving, forecasting, and related actuarial functions. The role requires independent work within the Actuarial department and may involve small projects.

The candidate will communicate complex results to varied audiences, contribute to documentation, training, and development, and bring 3+ years of actuarial experience with ASA/MAAA

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.
ASA and Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
At least 3 years of actuarial experience.
Verbal and written communications skills to prepare effective documentation, facilitate training and development, and participate in presentations.
PC proficiency to include Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Apply statistics, financial theory, mathematics and actuarial principles to pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions.
Communicate complex concepts, information and recommendations to diverse audiences; manage small projects within Actuarial.
