Job summary

Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston seeks a Staff Accountant to manage GL accounting, AP/AR, cash and revenue reconciliation. You will prepare journal entries, schedule maintenance, and ad hoc reports in a team environment, reporting to the Controller.

Hybrid work week, Massachusetts residency required, and roles within a bargaining unit supporting staff. Strong nonprofit accounting knowledge and software experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years related experience with G/L systems.
• Non-profit or cultural institution experience preferred.
• Knowledge of contributed revenue and ticket sales a plus.
• Detail oriented and strong numerical skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles/software preferred.
• Ability to work collegially with staff, vendors and diverse teams.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Process daily cash receipts and deposits.
• Record and reconcile daily credit card sales, admissions, and contributed revenue.
• Maintain pledge receivables, fixed assets, cash and liabilities; reconcile to GL.
• Prepare monthly prepaid and accrued liability schedules.
• Prepare ad hoc reports as requested.
• Record monthly fixed and variable journal entries to GL.
• Support budgets and annual audit preparation.
• Monitor GAAP controls and procedures.
• Assist CFO/Controller on special projects.
• Prepare reports reconciling contributed revenue with Development team.
