Job summary

ARES Corporation seeks a Human Spaceflight Range / System Safety Engineer to join an engineering team supporting ULA and NASA’s Artemis program. The role focuses on ground and range safety requirements, Centaur V safety, AFSS integration, and human-rating for safe crewed Artemis missions.

The selected candidate will apply system safety engineering to vehicle, ground, and range interfaces, coordinate with NASA and range safety authorities, and contribute to safety certification for complex

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in System Safety Engineering, preferably in human spaceflight, launch vehicles, range safety, or high-hazard aerospace programs.

Responsibilities

• Support system safety activities for Centaur V upper stage including hazard reports, safety analyses, and safety requirements documentation across flight, ground and range interfaces.
• Perform hazard analyses for vehicle, avionics, ground operations and range safety functions; identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate Centaur V avionics and AFSS design, interfaces, verification; assess fault tolerance and safety certification rationale.
