Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for Safety and Mission Assurance Programs to support NASA Artemis programs. You will coordinate across Artemis transportation, develop safety requirements, and provide risk analyses for inflight and surface operations.

The role requires coordinating with the S&MA team, program offices, and NASA centers, and may involve occasional travel. On-site at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX part-time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related STEM field.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering/scientific experience in systems engineering or program management.
• Knowledge of NASA program life cycle.
• Clear oral and written communication to technical and managerial levels.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, small core team across large technical communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop safety policy and requirements for hardware, payloads, and operations.
• Provide safety analyses and risk assessments to minimize operational risk.
• Monitor flight readiness-related work and NASA Artemis program forums.
• Coordinate across Artemis transportation to address inflight and surface operations.
• Prepare periodic status reports and presentations.
• Integrate S&MA risk information across programs and centers.
