Job summary

BlackSky seeks an experienced Cost Controller to manage cost and asset accounting for its Tukwila, WA facility. You will oversee manufacturing product costing, variance analysis, and cost optimization initiatives, reporting to the VP & Controller.

The role requires collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure accurate costing and strong internal controls. You will lead cost-related projects, support monthly closes, and contribute to strategic planning, including capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of cost controlling and accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Expertise in cost accounting and inventory management.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional project experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Track production costs (materials, labor, overhead) for accurate job costing.
• Perform variance analysis against standard costs and budgets.
• Analyze cost structures and margins to improve profitability.
• Manage capital expenditure projects and ROI alignment.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Production to monitor inventory and costing.
• Support cost allocation, analysis, and monthly close processes.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
