Job summary

Stella Contracting, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Solution Architect to lead the design of scalable, secure technology solutions. This role translates business requirements into practical architectures and collaborates with engineering, security, data, and business teams.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with remote flexibility and in-person collaboration. The initial engagement is a 12-month renewable contract with renewal opportunities based on performance and project needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, systems architecture, or related fields.
• Experience designing and implementing complex technology solutions.
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications, integrations, APIs, databases, networking, and modern architectures.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, IAM, data protection, and enterprise risk.
• Experience creating architecture diagrams, technical documentation, roadmaps, and specs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to balance business priorities with technical requirements and long-term architecture strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end technology solutions aligned with business objectives, technical standards, security requirements, and scalability needs.
• Translate business and functional requirements into clear technical architectures and solution designs.
• Evaluate applications, platforms, infrastructure, integrations, APIs, databases, and technology services.
• Develop architecture diagrams, technical specifications, solution roadmaps, and implementation plans.
• Partner with software engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, and project teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Assess existing technology environments and identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, automation, and cost reduction.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations based on business value, feasibility, security, and long-term sustainability.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, integration challenges, and potential architectural constraints.
• Participate in architecture reviews, technical governance, vendor evaluations, and technology selection processes.
• Ensure proposed solutions meet enterprise security, reliability, performance, compliance, and scalability expectations.
• Provide technical leadership while remaining engaged throughout implementation and delivery.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
