Job summary

Everforth ECS is seeking a Software Development Test Engineer to join our Arlington, VA hybrid team. You will ensure quality, reliability and security of a large-scale web platform serving enterprise clients managing critical digital infrastructure.

You will design test strategies, automate where possible, and collaborate across developers, product managers, UX, and security to uphold federal compliance and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in software quality assurance and testing with manual & automated testing.
• 5+ years testing enterprise-scale web apps built with Python/Django and JavaScript frameworks.
• 5+ years developing and maintaining automated test frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, pytest).
• Experience testing full-stack apps including frontend, API, and DB.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and Sec/DevOps/CI-CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Git-based version control and PR workflows.
• Experience with Jira, TestRail, GitHub, or similar for test management.
• Accessibility testing to meet WCAG 2.1 AA / Section 508.
• Experience with federal security/compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Cloud-based, containerized app testing experience.
• Database and API integration testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test strategies (manual & automated) across frontend, backend, DB, and DNS layers.
• Build and maintain automated testing frameworks; integrate with CI/CD and improve coverage.
• Ensure WCAG 2.1 AA / Section 508 and security requirements testing in workflows.
• Track defects using issue trackers; maintain test docs and report quality metrics.
• Collaborate with developers, leads, product, and UX during agile sprints; advocate for testability.
• Evaluate testing tools and processes to improve team effectiveness.
