Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking an Information Application Development Engineer/Architect to create modern industrial applications across OT and IT layers, enabling Connected Enterprise and IIoT solutions. You will contribute to co-innovation programs with customers and provide technical pre- and post-sales support.

The role involves building APIs, microservices, and edge-to-cloud integrations, along with designing architectures that span Logix, edge platforms, and cloud services.

Job Description

Role Summary

The Information Application Development Engineer / Architect will create modern industrial applications across OT and IT layers, ensuring Connected Enterprise and IIoT solutions. Our development is often carried out as part of a co‑innovation program with focused customers.

Provide technical pre‑sales and post‑sale support of company products/systems. Provide technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products to ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications. Provide answers to customer inquiries concerning system software and applications. Provide software development and consultation to prospective users. May build a mini‑application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping.

• FactoryTalk Optix – HMI / edge application platform
• FactoryTalk DataMosaix – industrial data platform
• Plex MES and Fiix CMMS – enterprise systems

Primary Responsibilities

The Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship.

The Preferred Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience.
• JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python
• C# / .NET
• Microservices, APIs, container‑based systems
• Technical and business writing
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with a data warehouse such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Spark
• Understanding of InfluxDB / Grafana dashboarding
• Understanding of MQTT / Kafka data streaming
