Job summary

Byrdie in New York City is seeking an Associate Social Media Editor & In-House Content Creator to join our social team. You’ll pitch, create, host, shoot, and edit video content, manage community interactions, and help brainstorm new social series that fit Byrdie’s voice.

You’ll collaborate across editorial and video, serve as the brand’s on-camera presence, and stay ahead of fashion, beauty, and culture trends to keep our feeds engaging and relevant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years of digital and/or social media experience with brands, news, or content studios.

Responsibilities

• Pitch daily social-first news and content ideas and translate them into social posts or hosted videos.
• Create original content (Reels, TikTok, etc.), including video editing and on-camera hosting.
• Monitor community engagement and respond to comments across platforms.
• Write social copy reflecting brand voice and guidelines.
• Stay curious and research beauty/fashion trends and platform shifts.
• Brainstorm new social franchises and series aligned with Byrdie's POV.
• Cover live events with Byrdie's editorial team and act as an extension of the brand online.
• Pull weekly social insights with the team.
