Job summary

The Barn Resort in Gettysburg, PA is seeking a Restaurant Shift Manager to oversee restaurant operations during assigned shifts and serve as the manager on duty when the Restaurant Manager is away.

This hybrid hourly role requires strong leadership, guest service, and the ability to coach front-of-house staff, coordinate with other departments, handle cash, and ensure safety and compliance while delivering exceptional hospitality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years hospitality experience.
• Minimum 6 months of leadership, supervisory, or shift-lead experience.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math and cash handling skills.
• Knowledge of Toast POS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations and act as manager on duty during shifts.
• Lead, coach, and support front-of-house staff to maintain service standards.
• Ensure guest experiences are exceptional and resolve concerns promptly.
• Coordinate with other departments for events and daily operations.
• Handle cash, deposits, and shift documentation per procedures.
• Ensure health, safety, and alcohol service compliance.
