Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Lead Engineer for Transmission System Planning to provide expert guidance on modeling and analysis of the electric transmission system in New England. You will coordinate study work, oversee power flow, stability, short circuit, and EMT analyses, and collaborate with ISO-NE/NPCC/NEPOOL to ensure reliability.

The role demands strong leadership, effective communication, and deep knowledge of standard planning procedures, with a hybrid work arrangement available.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or related. Advanced Degree preferred.
• 8+ years in Power Systems Analysis or Transmission Planning.
• Experience with transmission system planning reliability standards (NERC/NPCC/ISO-NE).
• Experience with transmission studies (power flow, stability, short circuit, EMT).

Responsibilities

• Lead the System Planning team and coordinate assignments for reliability studies.
• Develop and maintain the system power flow model and review forecast loads.
• Interface with ISO-NE, NPCC, NEPOOL, and other stakeholders on transmission planning issues.
• Develop design solutions and alternative actions to meet reliability criteria.
• Represent the company on industry committees and prepare study results for stakeholders.
