Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Lead Engineer in Transmission System Planning to oversee power system studies and develop system solutions for New England's electric transmission network. The role encompasses modeling, analyses of power flow, stability, short circuit, and EMT, and coordination with ISO-NE and NPCC.

The position requires 8+ years of experience, a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (advanced degree preferred), and proficiency with industry tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience performing Power Systems Engineering and Analysis or as a Power System Planner in an electric utility with Transmission system planning focused experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the System Planning team by assigning tasks to engineers and ensuring technical mitigation measures are implemented.
• Lead development and maintenance of the system power flow model, including data collection and parameter review.
• Determine study scope, assumptions and alignment with NERC/NPCC/ISO-NE standards.
• Interface with ISO-NE staff and internal teams to assess system impacts and propose solutions.
• Present study results to stakeholders and train junior staff in analyses and procedures.
• Participate in regional transmission expansion studies and represent the company on committees.
