Job summary

King County Wastewater Division is seeking a structural design engineer to develop and review facilities across the county, including buildings and tanks. The role includes guiding consultant teams to ensure KC interests are represented and updating design standards and specifications.

The candidate will work in a hybrid model, combining remote and in-person work to deliver capital projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of engineering experience including project planning, design, and construction.
• Professional Engineer in State of Washington, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hiring.
• Experience solving complex technical issues within a multi-discipline work environment.
• Experience managing multiple, complex capital projects within timeframes and costs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural design for King County Wastewater Treatment infrastructure including buildings, tanks, catwalks, supports and other facilities.
• Review the work of other structural engineers on consultant teams assisting the consultant engineers to represent King County interests.
• Update and maintain King County Wastewater Division standards, including guide specifications and other design documents.
