Qualifications

• 8+ years in high-reliability hardware design and testing.
• 5+ years in structural analysis.
• Strong command of structural FEA using FEMAP/NASTRAN, ANSYS, or similar.
• Experience analyzing deployment dynamics and margins.
• Correlating analysis models to test data and iterating designs.
• Expert-level CAD skills with drawings, GD&T, and tolerance budgets.
• BS or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design deployable structures for Muon's solar arrays from concept to qualification.
• Own structural, dynamic, and thermoelastic analyses and support others.
• Perform structural FEA — static, modal, random vibration, shock; analyze deployment dynamics.
• Collaborate with the structural analysis group on interfaces with the spacecraft bus.
• Build and test prototypes; support deployment testing with gravity offload and environmental campaigns.
• Correlate analysis models against test data and iterate designs.
• Produce and release drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and analysis reports.
• Deliver design packages for PDR/CDR/MRR reviews; document margins and methods.
• Support designs from prototype to constellation-scale production.
