Job summary

Gen is hiring a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer to scale our cloud platform with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. You will lead architectural decisions, guide global SRE collaboration with our Kuala Lumpur team, and own security-driven reliability. The role demands 5+ years in DevOps, strong CI/CD expertise, and proficiency in Python or Go.

Hybrid work with 3 days per week in the office; commutable to NYC or Tempe, AZ offices. Compensation ranges from 160k–180k USD annually.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps with leadership of large-scale cloud projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Expertise in Kubernetes and containerized applications.
• Strong infrastructure as code with Terraform and AWS services (ECS, EKS).
• Knowledge of CI/CD systems and automation for build/test/deploy.
• Proficiency in Python or Go and security/compliance standards (PCI, SOC2, NIST).

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to scale microservice infrastructure using AWS and Terraform.
• Architect and implement platform with Kubernetes and modern tooling.
• Collaborate with global SRE teams (Kuala Lumpur) for alignment.
• Review RFCs and guide design through a collaborative process.
• Own incident response and on-call rotations to minimize impact.
• Promote security best practices and improve overall security posture.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines for reliability and efficiency.
• Mentor engineering teams and foster a culture of excellence.
