Job summary

Sapient Search Group is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Atlanta (hybrid) to build, operate, and scale a modern payments infrastructure. The role is hands-on, spanning cloud architecture, automation, and reliability across AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and serverless tech.

You will own monitoring, incident response, CI/CD, and collaboration with developers to ensure robust production systems. Strong IaC, SRE practices, and programming in Python/Go are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Terraform and IaC experience.
• Production cloud infrastructure design and operation.
• Kubernetes/EKS/ECS production experience.
• Networking, DNS, load balancing, IAM knowledge.
• CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Strong monitoring/observability experience.
• Proficient in Python or Go.
• Ability to make infrastructure decisions independently.
• Desirable: multi-account AWS setups.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale cloud infrastructure across a multi account and multi region AWS environment.
• Design and maintain reusable Terraform modules across development, staging, and production.
• Operate and improve Amazon EKS and serverless infrastructure.
• Build internal platform tooling and improve developer self service.
• Design and maintain CI/CD workflows using GitLab.
• Own monitoring, alerting, observability, and production reliability.
• Troubleshoot issues across applications, Kubernetes, networking, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
• Improve SLIs, SLOs, alerting, and observability practices.
• Support PostgreSQL infrastructure using AWS RDS and Aurora.
• Work closely with application engineers and architects on infrastructure decisions.
• Write infrastructure automation and tooling using Python, Go, or similar languages.
