Job summary

Gen is hiring a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer to scale our cloud platform with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. You will lead architectural decisions, guide global SRE collaboration with our Kuala Lumpur team, and own security-driven reliability. The role demands 5+ years in DevOps, strong CI/CD expertise, and proficiency in Python or Go.

Hybrid work with 3 days per week in the office; commutable to NYC or Tempe, AZ offices. Compensation ranges from 160k–180k USD annually.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps with leadership of large-scale cloud projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Expertise in Kubernetes and containerized applications.
• Strong infrastructure as code with Terraform and AWS services (ECS, EKS).
• Knowledge of CI/CD systems and automation for build/test/deploy.
• Proficiency in Python or Go and security/compliance standards (PCI, SOC2, NIST).

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to scale microservice infrastructure using AWS and Terraform.
• Architect and implement platform with Kubernetes and modern tooling.
• Collaborate with global SRE teams (Kuala Lumpur) for alignment.
• Review RFCs and guide design through a collaborative process.

About The RoleEngine by MoneyLion partners with leading Financial Institutions to surface the richest, most comprehensive set of personalized financial product offers to the consumer.As a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer, you will lead our efforts to scale our platform to new heights, ensuring the highest standards of security and reliability. This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in DevOps, microservices, and containers. You will be instrumental in guiding our DevOps architecture, mentoring engineers, and fostering collaboration across the engineering teams to drive automation and efficiency at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic initiatives to enhance and scale our microservice infrastructure, employing AWS best practices and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Architect and implement the next generation of our platform using Kubernetes, incorporating modern tooling and methodologies to drive innovation.
• Work closely with our parent company's SRE team in Kuala Lumpur, ensuring alignment and cohesion across global departments.
• Spearhead the design and review process, providing critical feedback on RFCs and leading by example in our collaborative design process.
• Manage and remediate production infrastructure issues, including participating in on-call rotations, with a focus on minimizing impact and ensuring robustness.
• Promote and enforce best practices for security, leveraging your experience in compliant environments to enhance our overall security posture.
• Lead the improvement of our CI/CD pipelines, optimizing for efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.

About You

• Minimum of 5+ years in DevOps, with a proven track record of leading large-scale projects in a cloud environment, particularly AWS.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field)
• Expertise in Kubernetes and its ecosystem, with hands-on experience in architecting, deploying, and managing containerized applications.
• Strong background in infrastructure as code, specifically Terraform, and experience with AWS services related to microservices and containers (ECS, EKS).
• Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD systems (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions) and experience in automating build, test, and deployment pipelines.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or GO preferred), with the ability to write clean, maintainable code.
• Familiarity with compliance and security standards (PCI, SOC2, NIST) and a strategic approach to meeting and exceeding these requirements.

Compensation: Estimated Salary: 160-180K.

Please note that we are only considering candidate who are in a commutable distance to either our NYC or Tempe, Arizona office as this is a HYBRID role requiring 3 x per week in office.
