Job summary

DLA Piper in New York or Chicago is seeking a Sr Analyst - Restructuring to support the firm’s Restructuring Practice with market research, financial modeling and targeted opportunity analysis. You will collaborate with restructuring partners, monitor distressed markets, build models, and deliver actionable insights using Bloomberg, Capital IQ and related tools to support growth.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to grow within a premier global restructuring team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in finance, economics, accounting or business administration, or quantitative fields such as statistics, mathematics, or engineering.
• 6 years of experience in related analytical experience in finance, restructuring or distressed debt analysis is desired.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, analyze, monitor, and report on market opportunities for the Restructuring Practice Group.
• Develop client pursuit opportunities and targeting lists.
• Conduct research on macro and micro-economic developments across distressed industries.
• Build financial and statistical models; analyze insights to strategize opportunities.
• Monitor news, SEC filings, and data sources to flag distressed indicators.
• Collaborate with business development to understand partners, clients, prospects, and competitors.
