Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Estimator in the York, PA area. The role leads preconstruction and construction from concept to completion, owning scope, budget, schedule, and quality. You will manage contracts, bids, and procurement, while coordinating with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field or construction‑related discipline preferred.
• Minimum five years of practical experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction.
• Experience in commercial construction project management, including preconstruction, estimating, and budgeting.
• Proficiency with construction documentation and cloud‑based construction management software.
• Proficiency with project management and construction accounting software.
• Strong understanding of contracts, bidding, procurement, and change management processes.
• Experience with direct reports as a project manager, including leading engineers, assistant project managers, or construction managers.
• Experience in commercial construction and estimation.
• Experience with procurement, bid management, cost control, change order management, and field operations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to clients and collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Strong client relationship management skills, with a focus on service, responsiveness, and long‑term partnership.
• Experience leading project teams and mentoring junior staff.
• Experience with construction operations in a commercial environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts, proposals, AIA agreements, fees, and change orders.
• Prepare and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and cost analyses.
• Lead and oversee the bidding and procurement process, including RFIs and bid evaluations.
• Oversee field operations with emphasis on quality control, safety, and risk management.
• Monitor financial performance by tracking costs and invoicing, ensuring budgets and cash flow.
• Coordinate preconstruction activities to support accurate project pricing.
• Maintain strong client, contractor, and design-partner relationships.
• Communicate project status and risks clearly to teams and leadership.
• Lead and mentor project teams, including engineers and construction managers.
• Ensure proper resource planning across multiple projects.
• Identify and implement process improvements and new technologies.
• Use cloud construction management software to manage project information.
• Oversee change orders and cost control to align with contracts.
• Collaborate on design‑build projects for integrated delivery.
• Support division growth through strategic planning and initiatives.
