Job summary

Troutman Pepper is seeking a Paralegal in its Health Care Life Sciences Practice Group in a hybrid environment in San Diego. The role involves handling dockets, filings with the USPTO and PCT, and coordinating with attorneys and clients to ensure timely delivery of work products.

The candidate should have extensive patent prosecution experience, strong drafting skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in teams.

Qualifications

Minimum eight years of progressive patent prosecution experience.
Experience with US, PCT and international patent law.
Familiarity with CFR and MPEP.
Strong drafting and filing skills.
Ability to work in a hybrid/in-office setting.

Responsibilities

Ensure policies and procedures are followed on a day-to-day basis.
Monitor deadlines for US and international dockets and follow up as needed.
Review daily docket reports and coordinate with the IP docket department.
Prepare and file patent applications and pre-grant filings with the USPTO and PCT.
Efficiently manage IDS data and filings with the USPTO.
Prepare and manage recordation of assignments and name changes.
Maintain electronic worksheets to assist attorneys and manage client requirements.
Track and record billable and non-billable time per firm policy.
Demonstrate teamwork across practice groups and offices.
Provide back-up support to team members as needed.
